Organic traffic is the best kind of traffic because it’s free and the user has no intention to buy anything on your website.
On-page optimization can make or break any website, but most people don’t understand how important on-page SEO really is. It doesn’t matter how good your backlinks are if your content isn’t relevant to what you’re trying to rank for.
Your pages need to be relevant, informative ,and engaging . They also need extensive keyword research before you start writing, it takes time but it’s well worth it.
The elements that go into on-page optimization are:
1) keyword research : Crafting a piece of content around keywords will increase organic search rankings exponentially. If you can get your keyword research right, you will have the ability to rank for very lucrative keywords.
2) title tags : This is a very important part of on-page optimization because it’s the first thing that shows up in search results. You want to make sure that your keywords are included in your titles and that they’re catchy, but not misleading.
3) meta description : The meta description tag isn’t something that gets a lot of attention , but it can help with conversion rates if done correctly . People tend to click on listings in search engines when they see interesting descriptions, so make yours stand out! Don’t forget to put your main keyword at the beginning or end of your description.
) URL structure: Search engines favor pages with dedicated URLs that are keyword rich. If you have a piece of content titled “How to make potato salad” then
PotatoSalad.html
will be the best URL for it.
4) headings : Heading tags h1 h2 h3 h4 h5 h6 are one of the most important on-page SEO factors because if done correctly , they will guide search engines crawlers through your page. It’s crucial that you use your keywords in headings tags, but don’t overdo it! Search engines see excessive headers as spammy and will punish your website by taking away rankings or dropping you completely from their results.
5) image names and ALT tags: Optimizing your images is very important because Google and other search engines will not only read the title tag but also look at relevant keywords in your ALT tags. Now what do I mean by relevant? Well let’s say you have a blog post about organic food , then using appropriate keywords in your image titles and ALT tags would be something like:

6) content : The more content on your page, the better it is for search engine optimization . Search engines get confused when they see one paragraph pages with hardly any content, so try to get as much great information on each page of your website as possible !
7) internal links : Internal linking is hugely important for on-page optimization because it allows search engines to crawl your entire website all the way down. If you have a blog post about how to make gluten free cupcakes, then including an internal link under your recipe with relevant keywords would be great.

8) broken links : Having broken links are not only bad usability wise but they’re also bad on-page SEO . Search engines see that there’s something wrong with certain pages and penalize websites . It’s good practice to check regularly for broken links !
9) social media signals: Although Google claims that social media doesn’t help in the ranking process , there are still some people who think that it does . The more “likes” and shares your content gets the higher your website is likely to rank , but at the end of the day it’s all just speculation

What makes an effective blog post title?
It might seem like a silly question to ask, but it’s actually pretty important! In contrast, if your blog post title is boring or non-descriptive then there’s a less likely chance for people to share it.
So now that we know how important blog titles are, let’s go over some aspects that make them good:
1) Make sure keywords are in the beginning : Your main keyword should be near the start of your blog title because it attracts people who are searching for similar content . “What makes an effective blog post” is more descriptive and it’s more likely to get shared on social media compared to “What makes a effective blog post.” 2) Keep titles short and sweet : It’s true that you want your title to be descriptive, but it needs to be concise. The longer your blog posts are the less likely people will read them . There are studies that show that most people only read the first 2 sentences of any blog post! 3) Use numbers in your titles : Numbers intrigue readers , so this is an easy way to attract attention.
4) Add urgency or controversy : This type of factor can quickly catch people’s interest. You’ll often see “Secrets Revealed” or headlines like “Kanye West Speaks His Mind!” 5) Use research : A blog post that has tons of sources is seen as more trustworthy, so including some data or statistics in your title can be very effective! 6) Avoid keywords at the end : Don’t place your main keyword at the very end of your blog post title because nobody will see it. All they’ll see is “How to do X.”
7) Keep titles short and simple
Every blog post starts with an engaging headline. It tells people whether they should read the full article or not in the first few seconds. Choose a good headline for my blog, remember that you only have one chance to make an impact on everyone who comes across it.
